چکیده

Multicell constructed wetlands (MCWs) on lakeshores are a prospective treatment technique. However, the factors affecting nutrient removal performance of lakeshore MCWs at field scale unclear. This study chose field-scale MCW with highest mass efficiency (approximately 49,175.12 mg m−2 day−1) for total nitrogen in wet season to investigate response and microbial distribution seasonal shock nutrients load. The loading rates were as high 43~72 times over those dry season. Hence, storage pond (SP), forebay retention cell, was necessary mitigate loads influent, which is beneficial system. two major genera sediments heterotrophic nitrification–aerobic denitrification bacteria, abundance species nitrogen-related functional higher than According results redundancy analysis, hydraulic residence time (29.4%, F = 2.2, p < 0.1) rate (85.9, 36.5, 0.05) explaining community variation, instead environmental (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen). influent periodic saturation contributed complicated oxygen exchange environment resulting microbes, MCWs. provided scientific basis optimal design lakeshores.

Nitrogen removal in constructed wetland systems

Since the mid 1990s, constructed wetlands have been increasingly used as a lowenergy ‘green’ technique, in the treatment of wastewater and stormwater, driven by the rising cost of fossil fuels and increasing concern about climate change. Among various applications of these wetlands, a significant area is the removal of nitrogenous pollutants to protect the water environment and to enable effect...

Removal of Pharmaceutical Products in a Constructed Wetland

Background: There is growing interest in the natural and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment. While nutrient removal in wetlands has been extensively investigated, information regarding the degradation of the pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) has only recently been emerging. PPCPs are widely distributed in urban wastewaters and can be removed to some extent by the con...

Performance of a constructed wetland with a sulfur/limestone denitrification section for wastewater nitrogen removal.

The effectiveness of a nonvegetated lab-scale subsurface flow constructed wetland for wastewater treatment had been evaluated with the feed ammonium concentration of approximately 20-40 mg of NH4(+)-N L(-1) and a hydraulic retention time of approximately 10 d. The present system had a nitrification zone plus a sulfur/limestone (S/L) autotrophic denitrification zone followed by an anaerobic poli...

Nitrogen removal from industrial wastewater by hybrid constructed wetland systems

The efficiency in nitrogen removal from wastewater generated at CSBP Ltd fertiliser and chemical manufacturer by two hybrid constructed wetland mesocosms was compared. The mesocosms were set up in order to help clarify the reasons why the two year old constructed wetland located at the industrial facility, a 1.2 ha free water surface/vertical flow conjugated system, has performed under the 50% ...

Constructed Wetland Treatment Plant Constructed Wetland Microbial Fuel Cells

18 This work aimed at determining the amount of energy that can be harvested by 19 implementing microbial fuel cells (MFC) in horizontal subsurface constructed wetlands 20 (HSSF CWs) during the treatment of real domestic wastewater. To this aim, MFC were 21 implemented in a pilot plant based on two HSSF CW, one fed with primary settled 22 wastewater (Settler line) and the other fed with the eff...
